AMPT PRO Asphalt Mixture Performance Tester Kuwait is Burgan Equipment Co.'s servo-hydraulic system for measuring how asphalt mixes will actually perform on the road. Built by IPC Global, part of Controls Group, it runs the three key performance tests developed through NCHRP research — dynamic modulus, flow number and flow time — in full compliance with AASHTO T378. Laboratories use it to characterise mix stiffness, predict rutting resistance and supply inputs for mechanistic-empirical pavement design. Burgan supplies, installs and supports the AMPT PRO for highway and research laboratories across Kuwait.
Kuwait's summer pavement temperatures make rutting one of the biggest risks for any asphalt road. Volumetric mix design alone cannot show how a mix will behave under heavy traffic at high temperature — performance testing can.
